oopsz
They're working on the house and it looks like we need to vacate for a night. There was a 4* on Hotwire for $65, so I felt comfortable bidding $55 for a 4* downtown. Accepted on the first try. Taxes and fees were $16 and change, for a total price of $71.Kinda wish I had started at $45 and worked my way up! Ah well. Never stayed at the IC before. Now, do I try and find overnight parking downtown, or just take the streetcar?Went through the PRICELINE link. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! Looks like a nice deal for this 4* rated property. Glad to see you're pleased with the purchase and will get you out of the hotel for the nite while the contractors do whatever it is that they need. Personally i'd take the streetcar as to not have to deal with the parking issue (or possible expense).Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding. oopsz
Just in case anyone has a similar concern- there's plenty of street parking in the area, and street parking is free from 6 PM to 8 AM. I bet it would be harder on a Friday night though. The Intercontinental is a hotel obviously past it's prime. Stained carpets, Tube TVs, old shower heads. This is a hotel in desperate need of a facelift. To be fair, it's got large rooms, comfortable beds, and it's in a great location. Link to comment
