the seal
I can't see any winning bids for a 5* on Waikiki Beach.Any ideas of a realistic bid and what I could expect to pay? (7 nights 3rd to 10th Feb 2012)Cheapest prices around seem to be the Trump for around $330 a night.Any advice would be appreciated.Probably should add that there are no 5* options on Hotwire. thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages.Five star bidding in this zone was only added somewhat recently and to date nobody has won a 5* rated hotel in this zone. It's been guessed that one possibility for the 5* may be the Royal Hawaiian, but there could be others as well. With this in mind, and other hotels in the area that may suit your needs (the Trump you mentioned or what you might be able to get a 4* hotel in the zone for thru PRICELINE / HOTWIRE) what would be your maximum bid to try for a 5* property? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. the seal
I went up to $215 per night, but with no luck. Will try for a 4* around $120 tomorrow. Link to comment
thereuare
In case you're not aware (or for others following along), if you're lowering your star rating then you don't need to wait 24 hours to bid again, as this is one of the criteria that you can change to be able to bid again immediately. If you still have the current browser open, close it and use this link to re-access PRICELINE (so that none of the zones are pre-selected and you can start with a 'clean slate')... and start your bidding from scratch at the 4* level. Also, do note that 'Resort' level bidding is offered in this zone, not sure if you overlooked it (since it's listed below 1* in the list of available stars to bid) or if you wanted to go straight from 5* to 4*?If you'd like help with a specific bidding strategy let us know your maximum bid and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. the seal
I bid up to $160 for a resort from Feb 3-10 which was rejected, and up to $135 for a 4* - all with no luck :( Some people said they could get the Hawaii Prince for $123. Any advice? Link to comment
