As suggested by a member, I started my own thread.

This was my reply in another post:

First Post!

Alight guys, so looking at these two posts here:

Superbowl Winning Priceline Bid #1

Superbowl Winning Priceline Bid #2

I set my bid at 4 stars and the vicinity to Las Vegas (Strip South) and bid $100

I didn't win! I thought I was going to get a room but no dice. I dont want to change my vicinity or the dates so I'm stuck waiting the 24 hours to bid again. I thought for sure I was going to get a winning bid based on those two previous posts but no good.

Any tips on what I should go up to? My max is 120 and the dates I'm staying are 2/4-2/6. This is the first bid I do not win and have had good luck in previous attempts, kinda bummed. Let me know what you guys think! And yes I used your PRICELINE link because this is a great website.

So looking at the Re-bidding guidelines, my options for safely re-bidding while choosing other zones in Las Vegas for a 4* hotel in the Las Vegas Strip South zone would be:

Boulder

Henderson

NW Las Vegas

Nellis - Las Vegas Speedway

The logic being that those zones only have 3* offerings which would then be excluded from the bidding even though they are selected and the only zone that will be considered will still be the Las Vegas Strip South due to the 4* selection....correct?

Thanks guys.

Yes, you have your re-bid zones correct, but always double check them just before bidding to make sure that nothing has changed.

Using your FOUR re-bid zones you can try as follows:

Select 4* Strip South...

Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $120

You might look on the hotel web sites to see just what their direct rates are for your dates. There are a number of them in the Las Vegas Checker in the Tools menu, and more on the Support Page. Once in a great while they even have specials that aren't available via PRICELINE bidding.

Have you tried the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins in the Tools menu? If there are reported wins, it will give you an idea of just what bid it might take to win.

I think it might be tough dates for bidding. HOTWIRE didn't have ANY 4* offerings for the North or South Strips.

What is the best rate you can find for a 4* hotel on the strip thru conventional booking channels? (i'd suggest using MAPS and HOTELS.com and filter by 4* and then sort by price). Most Vegas hotels will likely be at or near full occupancy for the SuperBowl so there is little reason to offer deep discounts thru the opaque suppliers.

The 'problem' is that the rates above are the average of a very expensive nite (Saturday) and a not as expensive nite (Sunday), and to determine the amount needed for a winning bid is not always as simple as averaging the rate needed to win each nite of the stay on its own.

Even though this is only a 2 nite stay, is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option... or would you prefer to pay a little extra and take one of the offers above for the entire stay?

I am in the same boat, I am not quite ready to begin my bidding but i've been keeping an eye on both Hotwire and posted wins for those dates.

I have mixed feelings on going a little further away from the strip since we will have a car for this particular trip or splitting our dates so we will get a cheap room at least for Sunday night since it seems much less popular.

Please keep me updated on what you find as it will be a great help to me as well. :)
