Booked through the HOTWIRE link of course, I got the Hyatt regency and iam very pleased. Thank you for your website and its resources.

Amenities: Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access

This is the first time I used Hotwire and it will not be the last.

I have one question, how would I go about asking for a king bed. I'm staying with my girlfriend and I don't want to get a 2 bed room. Should I call ahead or ask when I check in?

You can call the hotel and request the room/bed type you would like, but the hotel may (likely) tell you that they can't guarantee it and your room will be assigned at check-in, at which point you can ask if they'll at least make a note on the reservation with your request and you'll need to ask again at check-in. I have had some success going into the individual Hyatt's page and use their e-concierge to request room types/upgrades. Use this opportunity to also put in your Hyatt number, and more times than not I have been given the bed type requested. Calling ahead of time to follow up on your e-request will also help.
