Suresh
Hello, My travel dates are in February 2012. I am not sure whether I should wait for some time and start bidding or should I start bidding now itself? If I wait and start bidding at the last moment, does it makes any difference?-Suresh Link to comment

thereuare
Note that when bidding the Strip North zone you're subject to any hotel in the zone at the star rating you choose, not necessarily one of the three you've included above. Assuming this is acceptable, at the 5* level in Vegas you have ELEVEN re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 5* Strip North...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $103, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $105, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $108, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Suresh
I used the PRICELINE link on the top right corner. I tried to bid till $110 using re-bid zones but no success. So I have decided to wait till the end of December to start my bid once again. Because I see people getting Venetian for $132 on Christmas Eve. My travel dates does not fall under any travel dates. So my budget would be around $110 to $120. Any suggestion about waiting for sometime and booking? Thanks,Suresh Link to comment
thereuare
I see people getting Venetian for $132 on Christmas Eve.For various reasons, December is a very slow month for Vegas (with the exception of the NFR Finals), and this is even more so on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so that is the reason why you're likely seeing low rates for Dec 24, not necessarily because it's less than 3 weeks away. With the above noted, the Vegas market is one of the most price volatile hotel markets known, and rates can and do change quickly... both up and down. Unfortunately there is no way to know which way they will go between now and your stay. For additional thoughts/comments see the related 'Bid Early or Close to Check-in' link in our PRICELINE FAQ.One aspect which may be hurting your chances for this stay is that Saturday nite is so much more expensive than the other three 3 nites. While some hotels do average the minimum bid needed for each nite and adjust the threshold needed for the complete stay, other hotels use a more complex calculation and it can make the bidding a bit more difficult (or increase the bid needed vs. having bid the nites separately). If you're willing to change hotels after the first nite you may want to consider bidding 2/5-2/8, then if successful 'fill-in' the nite of 2/4 either by bidding (and likely receiving a different hotel), purchasing a different hotel direct, or purchasing the additional nite at the hotel you receive. It may be too early to SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID, but something to keep in mind as you get along in your bidding. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board.Any questions feel free to ask. kitkat77
Sunday, February 5th is the Superbowl which is obviously a huge weekend in Vegas and explains your higher than average room prices. I'm planning on staying in Vegas Feb 4-6 2012 at a 5 star hotel so let me know if you have any luck & Ill update you also:) Link to comment
Suresh
My maximum bid till now is $125 but still no luck.. Link to comment
Romelle
I suspect the night which is causing your problems is Feb 4 - Saturday. Hotwire showed North Strip 5* for your four nights at $144,101, 101, and 101. When I did all four nights together it showed $112.Sometimes Priceline won't average, and then one has to bid to at least the level of the highest night rate. Or it may be a case where Priceline just doesn't have any inventory for your Saturday night. If you are willing to change hotels, you might consider splitting your bid into just the first night, and the last three. You can start low on the last three and may be successful much sooner. Then you can see if you are offered a chance to extend your bid to the first night (at a reasonable rate). If not, you can bid the Saturday separately. You may still have to go quite high for this night, but your overall average may be good. Or you can consider settling for a 4* or a different area. You could even book it conventionally.Romelle Link to comment

Suresh
Hello, I got Palazzo hotel for 3 nights 02/05 to 02/08 for $130 per night. But I am not able to find a good deal for saturday night. Only thing that is available is in Hotwire.com for $129. I guess that is Trump hotel. Can some one give any suggestion? Should I wait till last moment to book it for saturday night or should I go ahead and book the one available in Hotwire.com?Also can some give me some nice comments about Palazzo? Is it worth the deal? I really wanted Venetian or WynnThanks,Suresh Link to comment
AaronJB
Congrats on your success. :)Very nice deal for the Palazzo for this time period. Did you try using PRICELINE's "add a night" feature on this reservation to see what it says for 2/4?We'll use this thread for the 2/5-8 purchase and start a new thread if a different price for this hotel or different hotel is needed for 2/4.Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.Enjoy your stay. Suresh
Thanks..I tried using 'add a night' feature but it was not successful. It suggested a price of $329 :)-Suresh Link to comment
Romelle
You might try the hotel web sites themselves. Las Vegas is an odd market. Worth a couple minutes just to check. There is the Las Vegas Checker in the Tools tab above, and also other casinos are listed on the Support Page. If all else fails, a surprising number of them can be reached with just www.casinoname.com. You can bid some of the other zones for that remaining night, drop down in star levels if you really want to stay in the same zone, accept that Hotwire offer, or bite the bullet on the $329 (that would be my last choice, but everybody is different). If you bid some of the other zones, you could think of it as just an opportunity to see a different area of LasVegas. If you don't have a car there, one short cab ride will move you. Romelle Link to comment
thereuare
Also can some give me some nice comments about Palazzo? Is it worth the deal? I really wanted Venetian or WynnThe Palazzo is totally worth the deal and nearly identical to the Venetian, expect the Palazzo is newer... what was it about the Venetian that you wanted this property? (as i'd imagine the Palazzo will work just as well)For the remaining nite of your stay please start a NEW TOPIC.Thanks. Suresh
After doing some search in Google, I found Palazzo and Venetian are the same.. Couple of friends told nice things about Venetian, so wanted to be there. But now I am fine with Palazzo. Thanks,Suresh Link to comment
