Hi,

I'm a newbie. Have been bidding on priceline for 12/29-12/31 orlando 3.5 * in LBV - Downtown Disney and SeaWorld - International Drive South area. Started at 44 and hit 60 yesterday and still no luck. Is it hard to get good price on dates close to new year? What is the price range for 3.5* hotels in these areas? Any suggestions?

Thanks

Please start by reading your messages.

I'll add to the above that it's probably not just NYE that is causing higher prices for this stay... this is one of the busiest times of year for this area with all schools off for the winter holiday vacation; LOTS of families use this as an opportunity to take a Disney vacation (and for those in the northeast escape the cold)

Rates can always change (both up and down) but at the moment I'm guessing you'll need to be closer to the $100-area than the $50-area... although you may also want to consider other nearby zones should any of them work for your needs as you may get a better value nearby, but outside, of this zone.

Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly.

In Orlando at the 3.5* level you actually have FIVE re-bid zones... are you able to identify all FIVE? (feel free to confirm with the board or ask for help if you're unsure)

What is your game plan moving forward?

It sounds as if you're using the 'retail' version of PRICELINE to determine your re-bid zones when bidding, is this correct? If so, this is NOT how you want to determine your re-bid zones. See this thread, Priceline Re-Bidding Explained, and see if you can determine your FIVE re-bid zones using the method discussed there. If that is what you have been using, and/or are confused by the information in this previous link, just post back and we'll break it down further for you.
