Pitle
Hi,we're going to stay in NYC from Dec 13 to Dec 20. If there is a chance of getting a better quote, we'd split the period, even when we have to change the hotel. What do you think? Are the quotes different in this period, that it becomes a sense? The average quote should not go over 150$/day for a 4* in ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS.Which dates would you separate to minimize the price? Thanks for your help.Pete Link to comment
thereuare
I think $150 for a 4* hotel for this complete stay is going to be a tough win... you can probably succeed for 12/15-12/20 for these dates, but will need to 'give' someplace for 12/13-12/15, either in budget, star rating, or location. At the 4* level in NYC you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. (NOTE: there are currently no 4* hotels in the MSG zone so we've excluded that from your bidding)Select 4* MTW and MTE...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ESB and TS...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $113, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $118, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $123, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ESB and MTE...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* MTW and TS...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $128, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $133, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $135, if rejected close browser and use this link to re-access PRICELINESelect 4* ESB, MSG, MTE, MTW, TS...Bid $138, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $143, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $148, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $150I would at least try for your complete stay, so i'd bid the above looping thru the following dates:12/13-12/2012/14-12/2012/13-12/1912/15-12/2012/13-12/18If successful for any of the date ranges above, or if rejected for all dates, post back and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. Pitle
I've been successful, but only for Dec 18 to Dec 20.Got the W New York Hotel in Lexington Ave for 135$/day.Seeking now something for the rest of our stay (Dec 13 to Dec 18).Maybe I'll try this with 3,5* or 3* to keep the quotes low. Romelle
It would be worth your time to first try 4* for your remaining days. It might be that a different hotel will have availability for Dec 13 - 18, but didn't have for Dec 18 - 20. Romelle Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your (partial) success! Usually when SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID you want to try to get at least half of your stay in the first purchase, as you're now left with 5 nites, two of which are very expensive, which makes the possibility of yet another split a possibility.Did you bid up to $150 for other sub-set of your dates and were turned down or did you only bid as high as $135 for longer stays? As this thread now reflects your win for 12/18-12/20, please start a NEW TOPIC for the balance of your stay and we'll continue the discussion there.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Enjoy this leg of your trip.
