mikemollica
I scored Aria for $170 per night for the weekend of 10/22/11.This was my first time using this site. I was hoping to get the Cosmopolitan, but was okay with Aria or Vdara. I usually stay at MGM Grand and book by calling the member line. I called and was quoted $361 for the weekend so I figured I'd give Priceline a shot to see if I could get a nicer hotel for around the same price. I started off at $90 and made my way up incrementally adding zones with each rejection.I had looked at each hotel's site beforehand and prices were pretty ridiculous. Even Priceline's starting price for Aria was $249/night, so I'm happy with the results. I just wish I could have gotten the Cosmopolitan. :) Has anyone used the $20 trick at Aria? I might have to give it a shot. Link to comment

spex2004
Congrats! Haven't used the $20 trick @ Aria, but once I called them ahead of time to confirm my booking and asked a friend to check-in cuz i was running late..and they upgraded me to the Penthouse for free. YMMV but maybe give them a call and confirm you're good to go..who knows, maybe they'll upgrade you! Link to comment

thereuare
It's tipping the front desk clerk, often 'sandwiching' the money between your credit card and ID, and asking if there are any upgrades available.See this Tipping at hotels for a further discussion (it begins with tipping bellman, housekeeping, etc, but about 3-4 posts in begins to discuss upgrades with the front desk staff)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
