blammy
I was wondering if Hotwire and Priceline used the same hotels. If they did you could use Hotwire to get a rough idea of what an acceptable bid would be for a certain hotel class in a specific city? For instance if hotwire offers a 3 star hotel in the medical center area of Houston for $84 a nite, then would it make sense to go to priceline to make a starting bid of about $70 for a 3 star hotel in the same area and dates? thereuare
PRICELINE and HOTWIRE are each their own company and therefore each has their own universe of hotels. However, the bigger issue for what you're trying to achieve is that not only does each use their own pool of hotels, but each assigns star ratings differently as well (HOTWIRE tends to be a bit more 'generous' in their hotel assignment)... so if you're seeing a 3.5* hotel on HOTWIRE, it's not know whether this hotel would be rated 3.5* or 3* thru PRICELINE, so you're therefore not comparing apples-to-apples. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
