Is it the Microtel?

Is the 75% recommended a good thing?

What could I bid for something a little nicer? Could I get something a little nicer for around $75/night through priceline?

Thanks!

Welcome to BetterBidding!

This does match previous reports for the Microtel so that would be my best guess for this one. I believe PRICELINE rates this property 2*, so if you want to bid on PRICELINE, what would be the minimum star level you would want to choose for something 'nicer'? Is the aiprort the only zone which works for your needs?

...but I figure downtown will be too much.

...but if acceptable then you can use this zone to strategically gain extra bidding opportunities. Worst case scenario is that you're accepted in the Downtown zone at a price lower then you thought possible.

At the 3* level you have TWO re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Why would Microtel be a 3* on Hotwire?

If you click on their start system, they clearly indicate microtel is in the 2* category.

It also indicates (bold/italics emphasis added):

Please note:

Hotel brands featured above do not represent Hotwire's complete offering of hotel partners in this star rating category. We do not guarantee you will stay in one of these hotels. In addition, we offer select independent hotels, not listed here. Note that some brands feature hotels in more than one star rating category.

So while the Microtel may be a 2* in many/most areas, some locations it could be rated differently (possibly higher and/or lower)
