Deinoki
Using BetterBidding's PRICELINE link, this bid was accepted:Room Cost (avg. per room, per night): $90.00 (USD)Number of Rooms: 1Number of Guests Per Room: 2Number of Nights: 5Room Subtotal: $450.00 (USD)Taxes and Fees: $73.90 (USD)Total Room Cost: $523.90 (USD)I was actually trying to get a cheaper 3*/3.5* in either Arlington or Crystal City. Started at $60 and increased by $5 increments. Used Downtown as a re-bid zone thinking it would be safe, seeing as nothing was hitting in both Arlington and Crystal City at the lower prices. So I was very surprised to see my bid get accepted in Downtown and be upgraded to 4*! On other occassions, this would have been a pleasant surprise. However on this occassion, I was specifically looking to stay closer to the airport. Go figure :) Link to comment
thereuare
Sorry to see this didn't turn out as you had expected and you received a hotel in a zone you thought would only be available at higher prices. Some user this technique and it often works out ok, but i'm not an advocate since, as per above, you never really know when an unexpected low bid might be expected. When you have time, better to wait it out and try again in 24 hours (if you don't have any additional 'true' re-bid zones and have a little bit of time that you can afford to wait)Hope you can make this work for your needs and you enjoy your stay.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.
