Did some research, sounds like it's the Best Western Avalon. Any better guesses?

This is not the most centrally located area... i assume you have reason to be in this particular area and/or is there an event taking place that you're booking so far in advance?

Final Four. Hotels in the city are monsterously expensive. Any experience with that event and trying to time pricing?

If you will have a car and don't mind a little drive, try looking in Metairie, it isn't that far and would be safer than NO East. I don't know where Final Four is but on a regular day I can get from Metairie to City Park Ave in New Orleans in about 20 minutes.

Searched through your link on HOTWIRE, got a 2.5* result in New Orleans East for $220 for one room, four people, from March 30-April 3.

Amenities:Complimentary Breakfast, Laundry Facilities (self-service), High-Speed Internet Access

Also had a 3* in Metairie for $270

Amenities:Fitness Center, Restaurant(s), Laundry Facilities (self-service)

However, my guess for the 3* Metairie property is the Holiday Inn Metairie New Orleans Airport. The East property might be the holiday Enn Express East.
