AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Are you interested in the North Strip zone, the South Strip zone, or both? Additionally, what bids have you made so far, and what would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. jpfransa
Hi AaronJB thank you for attention. So, i am interested in the North Strip zone. My bid was 170 dolars per night. In the priceline.com the venetian hotel per example is 275 dolars per night. How much do you think that will be a good thing for me ? I want to a 5 star hotel. Link to comment
jpfransa
Nobody helps me? My buget is 200 dolars per night. But i dont want the Trump, i found rate in 167 dolars for them (HOTWIRE). I will stay in hotel 01/11/12 until 01/17/12.It is my first time. Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
You do have a lot of time before your stay so I'd consider bidding up to a "ceiling" for the time being (if you have already bid to $170, I'd say the ceiling could be $200). If not accepted at $200, I'd say go no further for the time being, and continue bidding up to $200 every 3-5 days. If you continue bidding up to $200 by the end of October and it isn't being accepted, you could consider raising your ceiling slightly. Overall though, I wouldn't get too aggressive/going much higher at this point.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
Romelle
I understand you don't want the Trump, so want to stay away from Hotwire's 5* North Strip offers. However, Hotwire can give some good information about what is happening with Priceline. As you found, Hotwire says $167 for the 5* North Strip for your full trip and it may well be the Trump. However, when I look at one day at a time on Hotwire, I get the following result:11 $29312 $24813 NO availability14 $13415 $9016 $90This suggests that a lower Priceline bid might be successful for January 14-17, while one will need a much higher bid to be successful for January 11-14.Assuming you would be willing to spend your visit at two different hotels, you could split your bid into two parts - January 11-14, and January 14-17. Then bid in a higher range for the first 3 days, and a lower range for the last 3 days. And if you get closer to your trip and are getting beyond your budget for those first 3 days, maybe you could consider the South strip and/or a lower star level.I'd also suggest you spend some time checking the hotel rates right on their sites. From time to time they have specials, and may offer rooms for less money than one can get them via Priceline bidding. There are links to some of the hotels on the "Las Vegas Checker" at the top of this page. Links to others can be found under the Support/Travel tab in the center of this page. Any others can usually be found with a simple address like just using the hotel name between www. and .com, or a Google search on the hotel name. I did run into this situation once. To be successful, I had bid higher than the rate I later found on the hotel web site. Romelle Link to comment
jpfransa
Thanks for the replies. AaronJB
This would be a likely match for the Aria.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
westcoastcyc
I think the main problems with your dates is that the Consumer Electronics Show is going on during the first couple days of your stay (January 10th-13th). I wanted to book a room for Jan 5th-10th, but the 10th caused the price to shoot up on Hotwire. I had to cut things short by a day and got a really good deal. Link to comment
jpfransa
What you guys prefer, Aria or Trump ? Based in all arguments. Location, services, a new hotel or not. Thank you. Link to comment
Romelle
Although you probably will get some direct responses here, there are also reviews under the Hotel Review tab just above. Also, tripadvisor is a good source for reviews. I haven't stayed at either.Romelle Link to comment
jpfransa
A personal question, where you would like to stay in the south zone Aria or Trump in the north. They can respond directly please. Link to comment
thereuare
Both are new and very nice properties... i would take Aria based upon location. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... and your searches too! Romelle
I was mistaken about there being reviews for Aria on this site. If you happen to end up there, perhaps you'd be so kind as to submit a review on it?There are several on Trump, but more are always welcome.Thank you,Romelle Link to comment
jpfransa
Guys, the HOTWIRE doesnt find 2 rooms of the same hotel. Only when i put just one room. Boring. I need 2 rooms. Any sugestion ? Thanks. Link to comment
Romelle
True, the link here doesn't have a space for # of rooms. But if you just click it anyway, when you get to HOTWIRE there is a box for # of rooms. Romelle Link to comment
jpfransa
Hi Romelle, i think that you dont understand me. Per example you put in hotwire to stay in 11 January until 17 for 1 room and 2 adults. Later you put the same date but 2 rooms. The hotel of the south area is gone. Im really sorry for me english. Im from Brazil. Thanks again. Link to comment
Romelle
Now I understand what you mean. I got the same results. 1 room, 2 people - 5* South Strip showed up at $105. I tried 2 rooms with 2 people, 3 people, 4 people, 5 people and then 6 people. No 5* South Strip. I even tried with more people - 3, 4, 5, etc. The 5* South Strip never showed up when I had entered more than one person. I've seen a similar thing with an airline. It would only let me book one seat at a special rate. However, after I booked one, the next day there was another seat available at the special rate. Very strange.Romelle Link to comment
jpfransa
Romelle, do you found for $105 ? I just found the price $180. Are you sure? Thanks for helps Link to comment
Romelle
Sorry - I was searching on Dec 11-17. I do get the $180 for Jan 11-17 5* South Strip. And can't get it to work for 2 rooms then either.Romelle Link to comment

jpfransa
The rooms has to be in the Same hotel. Imagine my mother-in-law in the United States alone for the first time. It would be a great idea. Just kidding. Do you think if I book one room and one minute later i book the other room would work it? Link to comment
Romelle
If you bid the rooms separately, there is no way to be sure they will both be in the same hotel. With HOTWIRE, the amenities give clues as to what the hotel might be, but even that is not a sure thing. Romelle Link to comment
thereuare
Do you think if I book one room and one minute later i book the other room would work it?It may OR may not. Others have tried it and sometimes the same hotel appears on a search after the first purchase is made... sometimes the hotel has one room offered at that rate and after the first pruchase, the same hotel is not offered again. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
