mksmlayman
Ok, so I probably overbid on this motel. I needed a motel for the same night, and was bidding on all zones in the Minneapolis area with a 3* EXCEPT Minneapolis Northwest because I wanted to avoid the Best Western Kelly Inn-Plymouth. I had just spent two nights there and was not impressed--it is definitely overated at a 3*. Anyhow, I knew rates were high and started bidding at $60 and raised it by $5 each time. I got confused on my free rebids and started getting "duplicate requests" messages from Priceline, so I clicked the "select all zones" button with my $80 bid, forgetting that I hadn't bid in the Northwest zone at a lower price. So I ended up at the Northland Inn in the Brooklyn Park area of Minneapolis. At least I didn't get the Best Western! The Northland Inn turned out to be a very nice hotel other than slow elevators. It was my first time there, and the rooms are all two-room suites. With all taxes and fees it cost $98 and change. My first *fail* on Priceline! But I used the Betterbidding PRICELINE link! Thanks! thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While perhaps a 'mistake' bid, as you point out, at least you didn't receive the hotel you were hoping to avoid and hopefully this was still cheaper than booking a hotel conventionally... if 'yes' on both counts i think we can still put this one in the record books as a win. :)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Glad to hear it worked out surprisingly well and you enjoyed your stay.
