mval6479
Hey guys, I have a trip planned for 8/24 - 8/28 and am looking for a hotel in chicago, specifically the millennium park area. I've put in a bid for priceline at $80 and have been rejected. Any advice for a new bidder? Link to comment
fallidar
Star level? Some good 3.5 star properties can be had from $55-$80 but 4* are running around $100-$125 this time of year. I thoroughly enjoyed the embassy suites downtown 3.5* at $55 earlier in the year probably one of the best properties I've stayed at downtown in terms of value considering the free drinks for 2 hours and great free buffet style breakfast. AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Have you only bid in the MP-Loop-GP zone? Please provide your desired budget per night, and whether or not you are also interested in the NMA-River North area. I don't think you're very far from a win - these dates aren't terribly busy.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
mval6479
So I put in another offer at $80 and was declined. They gave a counter-offer at $103. Is that as good as it will get? Yes I am considering both the MP-Loop-GP zone as well as the NMA-River North area. In terms of star rating, I was hoping for 3.5 stars and above. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. thereuare
The 'right' number is somewhere between $81 and $103... you can gradually increase your bids by using re-bid zones to the $103 level (or whatever maximum bid you choose). If you're new to re-bidding it's highly recommended you confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. What star level and zone(s) were you bidding when you received the counter-offer? How high to you want to bid at this star level and zone before lowering your star rating and/or adding other zone(s)?Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow.
