Hi,

I have a question about the hotel rates in vegas this weekend. so we are like 8-11 guys and we want to stay on the strip. preferred MGM or something better. no treasure island since nothin is goin on there at day.

my question is how to organize this. we were thinking about bidding on priceline or going for the hotwire deals, because 213usd a night is pretty much for the MGM. we want to stay 3 nights. 2sep-5sep.

any suggestion?

thank you

Hi,

I'm looking for a reasonable hotel in Vegas, but everyting is kinda expensive and we are a little confused. We are like 11 guys going and we would like to stay in the same hotel. So 3 hotels are available on hotwire.com, but I really don't know which is the best option. We want something like the MGM with a great poolarea and nothin like Treasure Island, because the poolarea is too small.

First one looks like Treasure Island

Second one looks like either Palazzo or Venetian

and I can't figure out the 3rd, maybe someone else can help?

Also, I wouldn't recommend it, because it can get you in trouble, but the suites at the Palazzo, the STANDARD rooms are 720-sq feet, and can fit 6 people with only a little discomfort. But again, if they find out, you're going to be paying up the wazoo among other things.

How many rooms are you searching for?

we are looking for 3-4 rooms. 1 room for 2 ppl, the other 2-3rooms shud each fit 4ppl.

is it easy to get a 2-queen bed room in the venetian or palazzo? we want to stay with 4 in one room, so a 2 bed room would be more comfortable. in treasure island it wasnt any problem, but i really dont like the hotel.

Well usually bed preference requests aren't guaranteed, and I know the Palazzo charges more for 2 queens, so I would imagine its not that easy a request to fulfill. Also, you can't guarantee its the Palazzo/Venetian but there is a good chance it is.

How many are you searching for to get the results you have posted above in terms of rooms/adults? Different combinations may result in different results. If you are searching for more than 3+ people per room, then you should be ensured of bedding (which may be 2 beds or 1+ rollaway or other combination) for the party.

I was searching for 2 adults only, because I thought it does not make any difference and if yes, the system might come up with suites. Afaik the suites are always with 1 kingbed and a couch or something.

So should I really look for 3-4 adults in a room?

Is there any other option? I know the rates on priceline or on the hotel's websites being extremely high, so we still don't know if we can make it cheaper.

does a palazzo or venetian suite for 269 make sense? 2 queen bed and a full-size pullout sofa sounds good. can we fit 6 ppl in that room?

Is the $269/nite thru a hotel direct purchase? (i assume you're not 'declaring' all 6 guests but it is for a room with 2 beds?)

I think 269$ is a decent deal on that property but thereuare has a valid question, is that declaring the 6 guests? haha

well, its a deal on a vegas website. i think it does not say that it's for 6guests, but it says 2queen beds and a full-size pullout sofa. so Im assuming that 6 guests are okay.

edit: the deal is also available on priceline and you cannot select the amount of guests on priceline :/

That's a pretty big assumption, and one i don't think is valid (you may be able to fit 6 comfortably, but certainly not the intention of the hotel). If there is no place to enter the number of guests, you need to assume double occupancy. In fact if you go to the Venetian or Palazzo website the maximum number of guests you can search per room is four. As well, if you search for double occupancy you'll see one price.. search for quad occupancy and the price goes up by $70/nite. Most hotels in Vegas now charge extra (up to $35 per adult per nite) for more then double occupancy. This isn't to say that some people 'sneak' extra guests in, but we need to know the above to make sure comparing apples-to-apples.

Thank you for your help. You are right, 6 ppl in this room is not a good idea. So we wont say, we are four. We just say that we need a 2queen beds. Do you know which hotels charge extra and which dont? Just in case I can get a good deal on priceline or hotwire, I would like to know if I will get charged for the extra bed or not. This will make it easier for us.

Most (if not all) of the 5* properties do charge extra for 2 bedded rooms... not sure of the 4* properties.
