Priceline Hotel: Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotels

I haven't stayed in Fort Lauderdale before, so I don't know much about the area. We will be there 2 days before a cruise, and would like it to be close to the cruiseship dock.

But here is what I would like: Fort Lauderdale Beach area, Four star, hopefully Hyatt Pier 66 for around $109 or less.

Is this possible? I think there is one other four star in the area, Marriott Harbor Beach Resort, and I don't know of any othe 4 stars in the area.

Should I start at $99, so I have some bidding room? These rooms are going for $175 and up.

Thanks for your input...plus Canadian...glojo

You have four re-bid zones available at the 4* level, if you're not familiar with re-bidding please read PRICELINE RE-BIDDING and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.

Select 4* Beach area....

Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $92, if rejected add re-bid zone...

Bid $95.

Any questions feel free to ask.

Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

I'm glad to know that info on the Marriott being a resort.

So now I'm wondering if there are many other 4* resorts in the beach area? If I allow resorts in my bidding process then I may get a resort that does not have the amenities I want right? Or worse yet stuck in the middle of nowhere.

Resort and 4* are two different Priceline quality classifications.

When you select a star rating that is the minimum you are willing to accept... so if you bid 4* you could get upgraded to a Resort property, if you bid 3* you could get upgraded to a 4* or a Resort property, etc, etc.

No guarantees of the hotel you will recieve is the price you pay for rates a fraction of traditional booking methods... in many zones the risk of a new hotel is low, but it's still a risk you have to be willing to accept to use the opaque services.

4* and resort are somewhat similar and somewhat different, priceline ranks resort as 4.5* technically

once I was bidding and refreshed the screen for a resort bid and instead of resort it actually said "4.5", but when I refreshed it again it went back to "resort"
