SESCOYOTE
I've used betterbidding for 3 years now and have always satisfied. Well we finally got bit with this one. We selected the Strip South (key work the STRIP) and a 4 star hotel. Our very first bid of $90 was accepted by a hotel that I've never even knew existed, they reason is, because it's not even on the strip. Its almost 3 huge blocks away from the strip and isn't really a great place to be walking with a family at night. Very concerned about this. Link to comment
Sgasrock
Not that this is a huge consolation, but it is Westin, and nicer room-wise than many places on the strip. The neighborhood is perfectly safe, and I would say it is a 5-7 (average speed) walk to Las Vegas Blvd. You can cut across Flamingo though to enter Bally's through the rear entrance (2 minute walk to Bally's) then walk through Bally's to Paris (they connect). Its not ideal, but Bally's rear-entrance is a great shortcut for those at Westin or Tuscany (further away). They do have a casino, with some decent low-limit blackjack. Overall though, I do agree, if it isn't on the strip, and doesn't have easy access to the strip, it shouldn't be listed in a strip zone, regardless of what the zone map says. For purposes of comparison, Bally's is actually more than a block away from the strip, they just have some moving sidewalks that make getting inside easier. Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome (officially) to BetterBidding!I've used betterbidding for 3 years now and have always satisfied. We're glad the board has been helpful to you in the past, but it is disappointing that you've used the site for 3 years and this is your first post :) . I'm sure others could have benefited from some of your winning bids and hotel purchases, just as you have benefited from those who posted before you... please begin to share your wins with the board so that the information can help others.Sorry you're disappointed in this purchase, but the hotel is located within the zone boundaries, which officially is named 'Las Vegas Strip Vicinity South' (emphasis added). Can you please add a reply to this thread with the date(s) of your stay so we can add this information to the topic title and enable your win to appear in the Priceline and Hotwire Calendar of Wins. Please use the requested PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your future travel purchases.Hope you can make this work for your needs and you enjoy your stay. SESCOYOTE
We won for the dates of 7/23-7/25 for $90. Yes it does fall within the bounds, if you look very very closely, but still this should not be in the vicinity of the South strip. Link to comment
