ezinaz
Bid $40 on 4*/Resort in Scottsdale area. Denied...offered free rebid at $55, did not rebid.Added 3* and bid $38 in same area. Offer accepted for dates 7/9 and 7/10 at the Scottsdale Cottonwood Resort.Probably could have gotten for cheaper, but overall I'm happy with the deal. Found out they have a $15 per day resort fee which lessens the deal a bit. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While not the original star level you were seeking, glad to see you're pleased with the results and this works for your plans. While none of us like paying resort fees, at least they're the same resort fees those who booked direct (at much higher prices) have to pay as well.Thank you for sharing your win with the board. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. mjunkmail
I have stayed at the Cottonwood before and I think you will enjoy it. You are getting a nice place for the price you paid. What I remember the best is a very comfortable king sized bed.Very nice lobby and a slightly above average outdoor pool. The tennis courts were a bit run down (quite a few cracks), but free to use.Oh, and don't be freaked about the not-so-good reviews you will find for the place on the different online sites. I am not sure what these people who do the reviews are expecting, but they must be used to staying at only 5 star hotels. Link to comment
FMN99
I have also stayed here (through Priceline Name Your Own Price). We were upgraded to a suite in the back of the property. The bed was super comfortable. The rooms were clean. The suites have little enclosed patios in the back, however you cannot access them. There are mini-jacuzzis on the patio that are no longer used, so for safety reasons they have locked the patios.I believe most negative reviews come from the age of the resort, and the lack of updating. You also have to be prepared for a hike to your room. The grounds are huge.Overall, it is a nice, quiet place to stay. Link to comment
