phoonster05
Bid $12 for the dates mentioned and got it on first try. In retrospect, perhaps I should have bid lower as I did not have to go through the counterbid process. Comparable price on hotwire was $14.95, so not much savings in that regard, but over 50% better than Hertz listed rate. Oh well.Offer Price $24.00Exorbitant fees and Taxes $34.50Total $58.50Crazy that taxes and garbage exceeded rental price itself. And yes, I used the PRICELINE link. Link to comment
thereuare
Congratulations on your success!Glad to see you received a nice discount vs. a conventional booking for this rental.Unfortunately it's not uncommon for rental car taxes/etc at airport locations to be exorbitant... it's an easy source of revenue to help with airport expansion and improvement. Local voters seldom rent cars from the airport, so it's easy to pass referendums to add/increase a tax on rental cars for airport improvements (even easier when the alternative is to have their local taxes increase!)Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
