Priceline Hotel: 4* Victoria Magnolia Hotel and Spa

I worked on this bid for days. I started at $89 and worked my way up

through the $140s. I finally got a nibble

at $150. The reply window from PL popped up

saying, "If you will raise your bid $40 ..."

I clicked back on the link that said, "If you want

to change your selections..." I selected another

area (that only had 3* hotels), and I raised

my bid to $155. Bingo. They took it.

It is the Magnolia Hotel and Spa. I like it!

I'm new at this, but it seems the July 4th week is a

tough time to get a really low price.

Suggestions anyone?

I am wondering if 5 weeks or 6 weeks is too soon to

start bidding?

While perhaps more expensive then you originally intended, hope you're pleased with the deal and hotel you received.

There is no telling the 'right' time to bid before your stay... if you waited it possible that rates drop, but if it's a busy time it's also possible that hotels begin to sell out and rates rise even further. I am pleased about it. The published rates are about $100 more, and

we only had that window of time. I'll be testing out waiting closer to the

day on other bookings. Thanks so much for all your helpful suggestions

and postings! I am so glad to have this kind of assistance!

Question: Several times when I have had a bid(s) rejected, PL sends an

email saying "try again right now". If I use the link in their email, is that

NOT the same as going back into the www.betterbidding site to pick up the

link?

CORRECT... please don't use the links in any emails that PRICELINE sends, please return here and start from a link on the board to begin your bidding.
