Quite impressed that the Riviera got better. Checked in later so I think that was the key to not getting a really bad room on the 2nd floor.

Self check in kiosk meant I did not trapese in all the way to the front desk just to check in or out.

37 inch flat screen, updated bathroom fixtures and appliances. Water pressure so strong I almost fell out of the shower when I first turned it on. Literally.

Still loud (I could hear planes last time I was here a year and a half ago or so), because early in the morning there are construction workers underneath that scrape loose rock with metal shovels on pavement. The point is that you could hear that from your window 14 stories up.

But the new decor is nice. Bed is a Sealy made specifically for the Riviera. A little firm but more comfortable than some I've slept on.

This is a semi-win/semi-success for me as the rate was superb, but yet I was hoping to get the Strat, however I'm feeling that even though the star ratings and location match, the Strat has more on it's amenity set. If I recall, the deposit was small on the card and internet was $11.99.

Was booked right after check out and some delay over at Strat where I stayed the night before. So around Noon - 1PM this booking was made if that factors in any for how the Riv sells itself on Hotwire. However I caution doing that, I only did it because I did not know if I was staying another night. If you find a deal, book it. Especially if it's a weekend. This was a weekday booking; however a weekend booking of 3 days I waited on actually went up. So gamble-book at your own risk..

What did the old Amenity list for this hotel have? Because yes the inside of the room looked quite different and much better even though the window was still a small one. IIRC the last time I went years ago it was a 2.5 star maybe? Definitely an improvement in the rooms. Casino itself is old looking tho.

This property used multiple amenity combinations, so i don't think it's a matter of previous/current amenities, it's simply a new amenity combination, and we'll likely still see the previous ones associated with this property as well.
