Hotwire Hotel: 4* Los Angeles (Downtown) Sheraton

Just used Hotwire to buy (using the HOTWIRE link here) a stay in downtown LA. 4 Star 85.00 it turns out to be the Sheraton Los Angeles Rated 3.5 on Trip Advisor Beware!! I am really disappointed.

Does anyone know if I can challenge this purchase?

Just got off the phone with Hotwire. This hotel is rated 4 at Travelocity and Orbitz and 3.5 at Expedia and TripAdvisor. They will not cancel or change my purchase because I have not stayed previously at this property and therefore cannot make a determination if it is a 4 star hotel. The rep told me I can call Hotwire when I arrive and look at the hotel room. I am to call the 866-Hotwire number and complain at check in--fun.

Really disappointed in this purchase--I have used HOTWIRE for hotels and car rentals and have always been please with the purchase.

I'm sorry to see that you don't like the outcome for this stay. Like HOTWIRE told you, your best chance to get out of this is to phone them from the hotel. And i wouldn't judge the hotel this hard based on the many times ridiculous reviews posted on TA.

I always take the TA reviews with a grain of salt. And keep in mind with TA reviews that many of those people paid full price, which is often significantly more, and may have different expectations at those price points. And for some reason is the TA people eager to complain over ridiculous things.

Date May 1 for one night, put in for a 4 star property. Smoke Free Rooms, Fitness Center, Restaurant(s),

Business Center, High-Speed Internet Access. I thought it might be the Bonaventure. But no, the Sheraton. $85 plus fees

I undestand that since this is a new star rating for the Sheraton and it got the same amenities like the Westin.

There are multiple properties in this zone at the 4* level and when bidding on PRICELINE there is no way to know which one you will receive... you can receive any hotel in the zone you select at the minimum star level (or higher) you choose.
