Im up to $100 bidding as a 3.5*. Im sure it must be my dates - I need 4 nights. Could do 3 nights, but knocking off Thursday would just raise their average rates since the rates really jump on Friday....

If you are cutting into the weekend, you probably won't get that rate - all the skiers will be coming into town for the weekend.

We are going to a concert in Brownfield(ME) Thursday night and just need the one night to stay and drive back home for the weekend.

Yes I was pretty sure the one hotel that would be listed would be the Grand Hotel, so I started at 3* to give me another chance if I needed to raise my bid. I wonder if I could have gone lower.

Check out the hotwire prices for the time period you are interested in, then try to undercut them $10-20 and see what happens.
