petale
I am new to this site and to Priceline so excited I found your site to help through this process. I am trying to book a hotel in Downtown Portland for Memorial weekend, May 28 to May 30 and would prefer 4 star but willing to go to 3.5 star. I have made 4 tries but been rejected all four times. First try, 70.00 for a 4 star, second try 75.00 for a 4 star, 3rd try 85.00 for a 4 star and 4th try 80.00 for a 3.5. I have kept track of the median price, which seems to fluctuate almost daily.Maybe my price is too low for this particular weekend but would appreciate any advice on how to bid more successfully without overbidding. Thanks Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Downtown does look on the expensive side for these dates, likely due to the holiday. What would be your desired budget per night?Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
petale
Thank you for welcome and for responding so quickly. My desired budget per night would around 100.00, but hoping to stay about 90.00 :) Link to comment
thereuare
Did you want to bid for a 4* up to your limit ($100) before trying for a 3.5* OR at this point is your goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? You may also want to take a look at Expedia which seems to have some well reviewed hotels in the $110-$135 range... trying using code FROST11 for 10% off and you're not too far from your budget and will know exactly what you're getting. Most of these rates were non-refundable, but if you could find something similar which is refundable you could then use that as a back-up while you continue to try PRICELINE for lower rates in the weeks ahead.Let us know what you find and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (or our Expedia link if you decide to go that route) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
austin_res
For Memorial day weekend, Hotels.com has the Monaco for $109, and the Hilton for $95. You may be able to undercut these rates on priceline. I would try bidding again. Link to comment
