From the Hotwire list guessing it may be the Sheraton, but this hotel only has a 3.5/5 TA rating. Wouldn't they keep up to date?

My guess would be the Sheraton. I'm seeing a 4/5 for the Sheraton on Tripadvisor when searching this evening, although in general, the tripadvisor ratings on HOTWIRE are not updated live.

Stilll considering making this booking, price for the same dates now $127.00. I contacted the Sheraton to ask them a few questions, and they confirmed that they do not have a coin operated laundry as indicated in the amenties.

Would this mean it is another hotel? If so does anyone have any ideas?

Surely the amenties icons would have to be accurate?

Any ideas would be appreciated.

It could be a hotel not yet reported to the board.

However, this property has been reported with a laundry icon previously. On the Sheraton website, I'm seeing Laundry service, so while not coin operated, what laundry service they do offer may fall under qualifying as "laundry" for the icon.

The Laundry icon is supposed to mean self-service washer/dryer on the premises, but many hotels don't read the descriptions when indicating to HOTWIRE what services they offer, and therefore include the Laundry icon in their listing when they really only offer off-site laundry (ie- wash and fold service provided by a local company or laundry mat) However, can't say if that is the case here or not, although note that this property has been reported with the Laundry icon previously (and i doubt they had one and then got rid of it)

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.

Thanks for the responses.

When you click on the Laundry Icon it says " Guests have access to a coin operated washer and dryer". This IMHO is very different to paying $20.00 to the hotel to send out a bag of laundry.

The icons are obviously useful in helping us identify the hotel but the reality is that the hotel should have the amenties described. In selecting Hotwire Hotels I will always choose one with laundry facilities over one that doesn't.

Anyway, I have booked using the HOTWIRE link and it is the Sheraton Brooklyn. I am really happy with the price as the hotel has a pool and we are visiting in Summer (why don't they ditch the laundry icon and replace it with a pool icon?)

I have emailed Hotwire to let them know that the icon is wrong.

I emailed Hotwire and explained that the laundry icon was incorrect. To their credit, they agreed with me, and offered me the option of cancelling my booking for a full refund, or $50.00 HotDollars.

I have accepted the $50.00 HotDollars to use on my next booking.
