AaronJB
Here is a list of what I see that *appears* to have been downgraded. Moderators feel free to alter/change this thread as need be. Specific examples for the downgrades are given in some cases.CONFIRMED:W City Center - From 4.5 to 4.POSSIBLE, BUT NOT YET CONFIRMED:Sheraton - From 4 to 3.5Essex Inn - 3 to 2Tremont - 3 to 2.5Allegro: 4 to 3.5Intercontinental - 4.5 to 4 (see 5/14-5/20, likely hotel mentions the "incredible pool" in cust. reviews)Either Hilton Chicago or Palmer House: Both have the same amenities - now both seem to be turning up in the same search, one with 4 and one with 3.5. My guess is the Palmer is the 4* one.Wyndham: Seeing what appears to be this hotel for 5/26-5/27 coming up as 3.5 instead of 4.Westin River North - 4.5 to 4 - I see a hotel with the same amenities for 5/28-5/29. Cust. review mentions the beds, so I'm guessing its the Westin.STILL COMING UP AS 4.5 (so far):Le Parker MeridianSofitelDrake (seeing it 6/28-29, for example)Either Monaco or Burnham or both (both have the same amenities) Link to comment
AaronJB
POSSIBLE, NOT CONFIRMED:Additions - Sutton Place - 4.5 to 4Whitehall - 4 to 3.5Swissotel - 4.5 to 4 Link to comment
DDSeeker
FWIW, on a 7-1 to 7-3 stay, I still see a 3* NMA ($150) with Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness. This matches the old star level and amenities for the Tremont. This piece of evidence suggests that the Tremont may not have been downgraded. Link to comment
DDSeeker
Although I agree with AaronJB that the Palmer House is a nicer property than the Hilton Chicago, I suspect that the Palmer House has been downgraded to a 3.5* while the Hilton Chicago remains at 4*. I draw this conclusion simply based on pricing information.Caveat Emptor. Link to comment
