Hi, I got the Royal Palms Resort for $134 / night from Dec 25th - Dec 28th. Although, now that I've read the very mixed reviews and checked out their website I'm disappointed. They apparently allow smoking everywhere except in rooms, including anywhere at their very small pool. Kind of a bummer for someone with asthma.

While i'm sure your asthma is a concern at properties where smoking is allowed, i'd hope you don't experience much of an issue... i wouldn't expect to the hotel to be that crowded the days immediately following Christmas so hopefully you'll be able to remove yourself from any potential situations that arise.

Despite what you may have read, please be advised that we do not allow smoking at our pool area. There are many secluded areas of our property that are available to guests that smoke. I just spent 5 glorious days at The Royal Palms 12/15 to 12/20]. The smoking won't be an issue. We stayed in the Estate Building [which is where you most likely will stay] The courtyard area where you can smoke is very open and airy and there shouldn't be any impact on you.

This is the most gracious beautiful hotel with caring staff that go out of the way to accomodate you. You are made to feel like a most treasured guest.

It is truly a 5 star resort. In fact, it just won best hotel in PHX on Conde Nast. I would not stay anywhere else. And the price you got is a great price.

The hotel is our absolute favorite. It was not busy when we were there, it is really a tranquil, restful retreat.
