kme10
Hi,I am looking for bidding advice in booking a 4-star NYC hotel for Dec. 16-19th. This is for my parents. I live in NYC (East Village) so am pretty familiar with the areas. Ideally, I think they want Central Park South area. They would take MTE though. Definitely want to avoid Times Square. I think they'd be fine downtown if it came to that ... as long as we can avoid places like Millenium Hilton.Any and all help would be appreciated! I've had great luck using this forum before, so thanks in advance. And as always, I click through to PRICELINE & HOTWIRE with the links you provide. :-) Link to comment
thereuare
What is the maximum bid for this stay? Also, it's not clear how you want to bid this... did you want to only bid the CPS zone up to your limit before considering other zones OR is MTE and/or Downtown acceptable as well if they are cheaper than CPS? (NOTE: at the 4* level CPS is often one of the most expensive in the area)Exactly what is it about the Millenium UN that won't work for this stay? Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links for your purchases. kme10
We'd like to stay around 200-250 range. And we'd take CPS, MTE over downtown. Hope this helps!I don't like the location of the Millenium Hilton - and it's way too big plus cramped rooms (at least in my experience). Thanks for all your help! I really appreciate it. thereuare
So to confirm... you're looking you want to first try for a 4* hotel in the CPS and MTE zones, up t $250/nite, before trying other zones? Also, HOTWIRE has what appears to be the Embassy Suites in the Downtown zone for $188/nite... would this change your strategy and/or maximum bid?Let us know how you'd like to proceed and we'll advise accordingly. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. kme10
Hi, yes.. you are correct. I've actually decided to focus primarily on CPS for my parents.. because I really don't want MTE Hyatt (stayed there; wasn't impressed) and it seems like that one is pretty popular for these dates. So, I am going to use your PRICELINE link and start at $110 for CPS 4-star. We are booking two rooms for these dates, do you think that 'll be a problem? Thanks in advance! Link to comment
thereuare
Booking two rooms shouldn't be much of an issue but $110 is likely going to be too low regardless of the number of rooms you're booking... if you let us know your maximum bid for this stay we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your bidding.
