don't kid yourself this is a gambling facility, the main focus is gambling, yes they do have tons of amenities of the quality of any Hard Rock. But people who have never gambled before or don't believe in the concept are immediately turned off when they dont't instantly win tens of thousands of dollars on their first try. As for the casino being tight or unlucky, that very assertion is flawed. You can be in a little crappy casino in the backwoods of Kentucky, or in Caesars Palace in Vegas, or a river boat casino in Missippii it's all just luck, I from personal gambling experience and from friends who are gambler :) know this: we have hit for several thousand dollars in some of the crumiest, dirties casinos, have lost every penny in the swankiest casinos in vegas and jersey, and vice versa, there's no guarantee on gambling whatsoever. As for the smoke, anybody who's been in any casino anywhere in the world knows "gamblers" for the most part tend to smoke heavily to calms their nerves, so this is expedted wherever you go, personally I don't like smoke and second-hand smoke makes me sick and I hate when it gets in my clothes, but I have been able to stand it for several hours straight without "wimping out", maybe if you're on an oxygen tank and on death's door you should be afraid

it's a 4 star hotel, no exceptions, not a 3 star hotel that's a step above a Holiday Inn, but then again it's not the Bellagio or the Venetian, for those of you who don't know 4 star service is excellent, it's a real taste of luxury, bars and restaurants in the hotel, turndown service, bigger rooms, bigger beds, better room service, comps, etc. oh minibar which is my favorite, yes this hotel tends to be noisy but it's all part of the gambling atmosphere, they have a great pool and grill poolside, and they turn the restaurant into a club at night,

for all of these amenities remember above all you're here to gamble, if not you WILL have a miserable time, don't kid yourself, for regular gamblers it's great because it's a taste of class without going to Vegas, for first time gamblers its fun too for an eye-opening experience

as for the payment system, like the one reviewer said, you get a ticket and cash out at the desk for from an attendant walking around, as for there not being enough.......I have been there when the casino is packed on a holiday weekend and there are several of them walking the floor every 20 ft. just waiting to cash your ticket, also to the reviewer who the said the machines are "different from Vegas machines" they must be people who don't understand technology :)

it's easy, when you're ready to cash out you print out your "voucher" and hand it in and get your money, maybe they didn't understand because it's a video slot or the animations on the screen confused them becaus these are mostly new machines, don't worry if you've used a cellphone or PC or even voted on a touchscreen you can get by, there are 90 yr olds who don't know what a computer is but can play these machines for hours

sorry to ramble on this review, but it really makes me mad when people give a bad rep. to a hotel when they don't really know what they're talking about, no I don't work for hotel, I'm a college student and an avid gambler, only thing I don't like about the Hard Rock is it's expensive to get a room, but at least you get what you're paying for (it varies from $90 at cheapest on a slow day to $139 on a normal day up to $300 when it's really busy for regular rooms, the suites of course are more), if you have the money and really want to gamble and stay at a real 4 star hotel, enjoy

tell 'em Joe sent ya!
