AaronJB
My guess in this case would be the Sheraton.I'll also recommend the Hotel Sax for $129 via Expedia (which offers half off parking if you are driving.)Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or Expedia or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. travelbee88
I'm still indesisive as to whether I should get a hotel thru Hotwire in the North Michigan Ave Area or Magnificent Mile Area? We want to do shopping, dining and a bit of sightseeing. Only going to spend one night in Chicago and want to make the most of out short trip. Thanks very much for your help! :) Link to comment
AaronJB
A guide to the areas:Hotwire:NMA-Water Tower-Gold Coast: This is essentially the North half of the North Michigan Ave. shopping area, plus the Gold Coast neighborhood that is only a few minutes walk North of the North end of the NMA area.Mag Mile-Streeterville: This is the South half of the North Michigan Ave. shopping area. Streeterville is essentially a portion of the area just to the East of NMA, and over towards Navy Pier. This area also includes the River North area, which is a nightlife/restaurant heavy area just to the West a bit from Michigan Ave. A little bit of this zone falls just on the other side of the river, but it is otherwise almost entirely North of the river.Loop: South of the River. Very nice during the day, but can be quiet (particularly in some areas of the zone) at night.PricelineMillennium Park-Loop-Grant Park: South of the River. Closer to museums and fine during the day, but quiet at night.NMA-River North - North of the River, and all of the NMA shopping area. Essentially a combination of HOTWIRE's NMA-WT-GC and Mag Mile-Streeterville.Overall, downtown Chicago is not that huge, so it's not that big a journey from the North end to the South end. However, if you plan to be out at night, I'd recommend staying North of the River. Please use the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
