bitguru
I'm hoping to book a Hyatt Place in Orlando on 10/23/2010,mostly because it's the only hotel I can find that verifiably hasHDTV (not just an HD-capable set, but an HD signal coming in).Any Orlando location would be fine, but they seem to be allbooked up for 10/23/2010 except for the Airport location(Hyatt Place Northwest, 5435 Forbest Place) and one so farto the north that it shouldn't count as Orlando.Looking at the "Pinned: Hotwire Hotel List - Florida" post isconfusing. Here's what it says:3* Hyatt Place Northwest (5435 Forbest Place) 2.5* Amerisuites NorthwestAmenities: Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business(possibly same as Hyatt Place Northeast)ORAmenities: Shuttle, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessDid two hotels get mixed up there, or did the AmerisuitesNorthwest close and reopen as Hyatt Place? I would normallypresume the latter, except then the "possibly same as HyattPlace Northeast" bit makes no sense.Anyway, I used the site's HOTWIRE link and was presented with:3* $48Orlando Intl Airport MCO area hotel (0.2 - 3.0 mi from MCO)[airport shuttle] [fitness center] [pool(s)] [business center] [high-speed internet]Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviewsSince this does not list [complimentary breakfast] as an amenity, may I presume this is not Hyatt Place?GiddyUp booked the Hyatt Place Northwest (for December) for $49.It showed as 95% recommended, but also Complimentary Breakfast. thereuare
(Hyatt Place Northwest, 5435 Forbest Place) and one so farto the north that it shouldn't count as Orlando.3* Hyatt Place Northwest (5435 Forbest Place) 2.5* Amerisuites NorthwestAmenities: Shuttle, Complimentary Breakfast, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business(possibly same as Hyatt Place Northeast)ORAmenities: Shuttle, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, BusinessThe AmeriSuites has, for the most part, gone away and the brand sold to Hyatt, who re-opened most of the properties as 'Hyatt Place'. So the Amersuites is represented as a strike out so that users who may see threads listed as Amerisuites (when searching old threads on the board) will know that it has been changed to a Hyatt Place. The part about "same as Hyatt Place Northeast" is that the Hyatt Place Northeast uses the same amenity combination as this porperty, so if you choose an offering with this amenity combination it could be either (or some other hotel not yet reported to the board)3* $48Orlando Intl Airport MCO area hotel (0.2 - 3.0 mi from MCO)[airport shuttle] [fitness center] [pool(s)] [business center] [high-speed internet]Recommended in 95 % of Hotwire customer reviewsSome hotels use multiple set(s) of amenity icons to describe their property, and this combination matches the second set of amenities for this property. HOWEVER, in addition to the Hyatt Place, this amenity combination also matches the Best Western Airport Inn, Holiday Inn Select Airport, and the Wingate Inn, so any of these would be likely candidates for this one.Hope the above explains things a bit. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. bitguru
Thanks for the clarification. For some reason my brain didn'trealize that Northwest and Northeast aren't the same word. Now I must ponder whether to try for Hyatt Place or go withsome lower-end (no HDTV) places I know about for $30-35.
