Using BB's PRICELINE link, I bid $31/day and got a counteroffer at $32 for Alamo, which has a regular price of $35. I accepted and they actually only do a reservation compared to actually charging your card. This is my first time using PL for a rental car.

Usually 'bidding' reservations are billed to your credit card immediately and 'retail' listings are just a reservation... were you told the name of the rental company before you made your purchase OR not until afterwards?
