zocalo
Hello,I am visiting NYC for a wedding and need a hotel room for three nights from October 8, checking out October 11.The bridal couple arranged a rate of $279 at the Carlton. I don't mind staying downtown, for the right price, as I have friends that live in that part of the city. I would not want to stay on the UES or UWS.Do you think that I can do better than the Carlton regarding price/value on PRICELINE? And if so, how would you proceed? Many thanks for any guidance that you can offer. Link to comment
thereuare
You can try, but these have been very expensive dates in Manhattan thus far.How much would you need to save vs. the $279/nite rate to make an opaque purchase worthwhile? Would the amount be the same if you were to bid Downtown? Is your minimum star rating 4 stars?Let us know and we'll suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. zocalo
Thanks. I see your point. The savings probably wouldn't be large enough to justify not knowing the actual hotel. Thanks. Link to comment
AaronJB
Not an optimal alternative since it is a ways North of the Carlton (about a mile), but HOTWIRE has what appears to be a match for the Benjamin (4.5*, MTE, fitness, restaurant, internet, business, spa) for $275. Not right near the wedding and not much of a discount vs the Carlton, but a very nice, well-reviewed and otherwise well-located option for about the same price.Just a thought.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. TripleA
I'm also trying to get a hotel from October 8-10 from PRICELINE. Do you think anything can be had for $200 on the island below central park? Link to comment
