Purplejacket
I needed a hotel for 10 days in Gardena (near LAX).Priceline touted a package deal: hotel, car, plane: $934but it doesn't give you choice of travel time (e.g. very long travel times just for SF <--> LA, plus I couldn't even specify that I wanted to go to LA in the morning and return in the evening). :) So I declined thatStarted bidding for a 4 star hotel at $37.Then $42 (added a location)Then $43 (went to 3 star). accepted. They offered me a rental car on the spot for $12/day (compact).A compact car is just fine so I took it.Left Priceline.Went to alaska air site.round trip: about $350. yikes!decided I could fly out of OaklandSouthwest Air: $150 round trip (approx).Total trip price: $748.63 :) Link to comment

Purplejacket
It was the Radisson that i won for $43/night. In the LAX zone. This was actually the second time I've used priceline + betterbidding.com.The first time was a little less than a month ago for a 1 week LA trip. I had a very similar result that time, except that I only bid for the hotel and flew on Alaska air. I did one bid for about $38, didn't get it, added Beverly Hills and went to 2.5 star, then bid for $43 and got it at the Radisson. So, second time for $43/night at the Radisson. Link to comment
