gqboy
Hello,I've been bidding 4* in the NMA area over the past couple of days for stay from 10/21 - 10/25. I started at $85 and used the re-bidding strategy. I'm up to $120 now and still unsuccessful. Should I retry in a few days? Other alternative is to lower my rating to 3.5*. I have a feeling the price will be similar in the Loop.... Link to comment
AaronJB
I don't think you're far off from a 4* win in the NMA area; based upon the rates I'm seeing, you may be successful in the $125-135 a night range for these dates. If you do want to start over lower at the 3.5* level, most of the 3.5*'s in the NMA area are quite nice. I wouldn't strongly recommend bidding for lower than 4* in the Loop area, however.Thank you for using the site's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches. Link to comment
gqboy
I've tried bidding 3.5* and I'm up to $105. I think I'll wait a few days and try again. Another thought I had was to split the days with several hotels. I'm not sure how well that would work out though.... Link to comment
gqboy
I've been bidding almost everyday since and still haven't scored anything. I'm up to $125 in the NMA area with 3.5*.. Getting nervous!!!! Link to comment
microcosm
I tried HOTWIRE with your dates and got $119 for a 3* which appears to be the Tremont. For what it's worth.Mike Link to comment

thereuare
gqboy,I think you're stopping just short of wins at both the 4* and 3.5* levels... you mention you're getting nervous, so if you're looking to get this done i'd think about what you want from this stay and go for it, even it it means another $10/nite. You're plans will be set, you'll know where you're staying and you can start to focus on other aspects of your trip... and it will still likely be a very nice deal for a 4* hotel in Downtown Chicago. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. gqboy
I bidded $125 for a 3.5* hotel. Ended up with the Doubletree Chicago Magnificent Mile for a total of $589.96. I was not expecting this hotel.... :) Thanks for all your help everyone! :) Link to comment
