Started bidding for a room in the Loop at the 4* level at $70. Was rejected but there were 5 rebidding zones at the 4* level and I increased my bid by $2 each time (to $80). Still no luck so I added the N. Michigan Av/River North rebidding zone at $82 with no success. Added the Greater Chicago zone at $84 and that was where I was accepted. Hotel is close to Soldier Field, which is my destination.

One night hotel: $84

Taxes and fees: $20.67

Total: $104.67
