Yes, you could have gotten a diffrent hotel. For future bidding, if you really need two rooms at the same hotel shouldn't you go this route.

If you'd rent a car and want to save parking fee, there is a lot nearby that charges $10/day with access privilege.

I actually bid every other day for about 6 weeks. Take from that statement what you will about when the right time to bid is.
