thereuare
Unfortunately neither of these properties have been reported to the board. If i were to take a guess i think the 2* may be the Days Inn and the 2.5* perhaps the Holiday Inn... i'm not sure of either, but i have a little more confidence in the 2* guess. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Djscruggs
Just returned from a stay at the university inn. It's listed as a 2.5 star but that's a stretch. Here's the scoop. this is a fairly large 1960's motor lodge that somebody is sinking $ into. It's a great cheap alternative for college kids from opposing teams to stay in when playing UNC. Rooms are clean and have been remodeled with new albeit days inn type furniture. The bathroom ceiling was 6.6 ft as the inadequate hvac runs over head. Our room came equipped with an additional floor fan and a dehumidifier to support the ac that struggled even though it's eary fall.On the plus side, they've put in a beautiful pool, invested in beautiful landscaping and they have an amazing sports bar/restaurant unlike what you'd typically find at a days inn.Desk clerks were uninspired and not very well trained. I was first told that since I booked via hot-wire we would only be able to get a smoking room. They offered to febreeze it if we needed. I inquired about their policy to better understand how they handled hot-wire. Was really more curious than irritated. After about 5 min of typing the clerk informed me that he found me a nonsmoking king room. Typically I use HW and PL to try to get a 3 star room at a 2 star rate. In this case i was thrilled to get any room for under $100 on a game weekend. I'd argue with the 2.5 star rating but would into argue with the $51 price!!! Link to comment
thereuare
Thanks for the info on this property. So sounds like far from a first choice, but on a busy game weekend, for $51, it gets the job done if you know what to expect.
