ufjoe21
:) ok well I will possibly need a hotel reservation tonight in Lakeland, FLit's about 2AM eastern time now and I will make my decision of whether to go or not, it's 50/50 at this pointso sorry if I don't end up bidding you can kill this post if you like thereuareanyways............I'm a little miffed because hotwire is showing 0 availabilityalso, I only found 1 post on betterbidding on this area (Lakeland area)reason I'm most concerned is, Lakeland is just 1 zone and only has 1*,2*,2.5* availalbeso the most bids I could have is2.5*2.5*,2*2.5*,2*,1*or I guess I could do 3 separate bids for each star level separtelymy point is I won't have time to wait on the 72 hr lockout, so I REALLY don't want to waste my bids$120 (2.5*), $114 (2*), $108 (1*) are the averages offered by pricelineso I don't know what hotels normally come up so I can't see what the going rates are for that nightalso using some other websites (Hotels.com,Travelocity) are showing like 0 availability (i know this isn't true, I've stayed in Lakeland before and it's a sleepy little town)anyways I'd be willing to accept any star levelI figure if I get 3 bids I'll start at 1* and make my way upI was going to start bidding something under $30 for 1*under $40 for 2*under $50 for 2.5*if all fails and I still want to go I can get the Terrace Hotel in Lakeland for $89 (before tax)again........sorry for not being positive if I'm going to bid, it's just literally deciding at the last secondif anything this will shed some light on this area of FL since no one has ever posted anything on it!so what I'm asking for is what should my 3 bids be?someone told me (on another site) that most people rarely get the 1* thru priceline so you can win for as little as $20 bucksGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRusually I'm on here giving people bidding advice, now I'm ripping my own hair out (that's not a problem because I shave my head bald!) thereuare
I figure if I get 3 bids I'll start at 1* and make my way upYou can't do that as the star level you select is the minimum you are willing to accept, so if you bid for 1* and are rejected, then change to 2*, it will be seen as a duplicate bid (since 2* was included in your 1* search). Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
ufjoe21
Apparently priceline has no inventory available currently......I bid 1* up to $30I bid 2* up to $65I bid 2.5* up to $80 (in my rebids I included 2* and 1*)so even bidding $80 I couldn't find a 1*......So, obviously they had no inventory thereoh well, I guess that's why no one ever posts about Lakeland :) I ended up going but getting to stay at someone's house for free! :) Link to comment
