Priceline Hotel: Westin now 3*!

I just tried pulling up some random dates in PL Vacation Packages and sure enough, the Westin is now a 3*. Great news for 4 * bidding in Vegas!

This certainly makes Priceline a better option in the area, but i stil think that better deals can often be had at 4* properties thru consolidators and hotel-direct.

They now rate it with Riviera,boardwalk and San Remo. What a joke,Westin is ten times the hotel that any of those are. I think it might have cost them some business as many would not bid 4* Strip and chance getting the Westin. This is great news for both areas.

... and hence lies the subjectivity, and inconsistency, of star ratings.

If this was an issue of increasing the activity of 4* strip bidding, a better move might have been to re-define the zone to exclude the Westin from the stip area (which can easily be done due to its location)

With the Westin now being classed as 3* via Priceline, I won the Westin around 3 weeks ago as 4* on strip, would it be possible to quiz Priceline regarding this drop in * rating, and maybe get discount/actual 4* hotel on Strip as originally bid for?? Any help would be appreciated.

Forgot to mention, that are stay isn't until 4/22 - 4/24

Yes... tell Priceline that you looked at your confirmation email and now noticed that the hotel is shown as a 3 star and you had bid for a 4 star property. They should give you a refund.
