Plenty of free rebids here for 3.5... started at $40:

$40: rejected

$41: accepted for Hyatt Regency Phoenix

one night total: $53.86 a/i

Have stayed at this property before on a PL win, and received a top floor room with a view. The hotel is a quick light rail ride from the airport, although it has a pathetically undersized pool for a desert property.

With the summer heat setting in, it seems even PL rates have dropped, so this one was an easy snag at $41. Best published rate I could find for this property was $89.59 after taxes, so I'm happy to save over $35.

Single-night, on-the-dollar wins like this make it easy to reveal Priceline's cut if you know the hotel tax rate:

Room Charge: $41 (as reported above)

Taxes: $5.44

Total remitted to Hyatt: $46.44

Since PL was paid $53.86, that means PL's take on this stay was $7.42. Percentage-wise this is high, but PL has a fixed markup per stay, regardless of the number of nights. An interesting insight into Priceline's business model.
