shunga
:) :) :o Can't believe HOTWIRE stuck me with a Tripadvisor and Expedia 2.5*-rated LaQuinta. Spent almost an hour on the phone explaining that I would never have accepted the offer if I had known that a LaQuinta was possible...to no avail. They would not cancel the reservation even though they agreed that LaQuinta isn't generally a 3* brand. Link to comment

thereuare
Can't believe HOTWIRE stuck me with a Tripadvisor and Expedia 2.5*-rated LaQuinta.Travelocity and Orbitz both rate this property 3* which is probably HOTWIRE's justification of the 3* rating.Sorry to see you're disappointed with the outcome, but hopefully it will be better than you expect. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Enjoy your stay. shunga
Amenities are no smoking, complementry breakfast, fitness center, pool, business center, laundry, and internet access. Oh by the way, on Hotwire's own website, under the description of 2* hotels,it says, and I directly qoute, "our two-star hotel suppliers include Comfort Inn, LaQuinta, Days Inn". Consumerist website reports that HOTWIRE was the subject of a class-action lawsuit for this exact practice. Link to comment
shunga
Bought four 3* rooms for a trip to Alabama yesterday. What did I get ? LaQuinta. Hotwire's own website says "our 2-star hotel brands include Comfort Inn, LaQuinta, Days Inn." When I called and wasted nearly an hour of my time trying to get them to reverse the transaction due to the fact that they were delivering what I feel is far less than what was advertised, I was stonewalled. It just so happens (according to them) that this particular La Quinta really is a 3*. Tripadvisor, Expedia, and Priceline disagree. :) Consumerist.com reports that they were involved in a class-action lawsuit for just this practice. Be careful Link to comment

shunga
Went ahead and stayed here rather than spend the $ to book another hotel. This was a perfectly acceptable 2* hotel. In fact, I would rate it in the upper half of 2* hotels. What it wasn't, was a 3* hotel. We stayed in the 3* Birmingham Hilton Perimeter the night before, and this LaQuinta didn't even come close to that quality. Simply stated, Hotwire offered me a 3* hotel, took my money, confirmed a 2* hotel, refused to to let me out of the transaction when I called them on it, and delivered a 2*. I will certainly be much more careful IF I ever deal with Hotwire again. Link to comment
