micheles
i have been advised to book my las vegas hotels when i arrive in the city - rather than to book in advance to get the best deals - as my visit will be midweek (advised less sensible at the weekend)having never been to las vegas before i wonder if anyone can help - we are a group of two adults and kids aged 18 and 11we will be booking two rooms - but of course want the best deal to have more money to spend on other goodies in vegasthanks :) Link to comment

LoneStar
If it's midweek and there's no big convention in town, I do believe you COULD drive up the Strip and see some flashing signs for "Rooms -- $35." But in the internet age, that doesn't seem like a particularly efficient or likely way to snag the best deal. I don't go to Vegas often enough to be an expert on it, but the hotel market there fascinates me, as it's almost like a stock market with wildly fluctuating prices matching supply to demand. Rooms "trade" there like no other city! There are a lot of websites dealing with Vegas hotels (I assume this board already has links to some of them?), that will quickly give you an idea whether your days are busy (high rates) or light (low rates). After you get a feel for "the market," I'm sure you can find good tips here on how much to bid and when if you'd like to go the priceline route. Good luck, both in the casino and with your hotel. :) Link to comment
