I bid $130 for the Marriott Niagara Falls Fallsview for July 3rd on Priceline, which was rejected. So, I bid $140 and changed the date to July 8th which was accepted. With the fees and taxes it cost $167.51 USD which I'm not convinced is such a great price as rooms seem to be going for $199 CAD plus 13% tax on most other travel sites for their least expensive rooms. I am hopeful that we can talk them into upgrading us which will make it a much better deal. Love this site and look forward to more successful bidding in the future. Looks like a nice hotel and I saved some money although maybe I could have maximized.

Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Congratulations on your success... while you may not have received the best deal possible, as you least you saw some savings on this stay.

To help in your future bidding, keep in mind that rates are date specific. While your 7/3 bid was rejected at $130, that would have no basis for the rate needed for 7/8. Researching rates a bit further, rates for 7/3 were $330/nite(CAD) vs. the nite of 7/8 which you won were ($199CAD). Therefore, it would make sense that it would take a higher bid to win on 7/3 than on 7/8.. yet when you change your date to the less expensive nite, you raised your bid (where it would have been better to lower it, or at least keep it the same).

Feel free to ask any questions regarding the above and ask for help before bidding on your next stay.

Hi:

I am looking at this exact hotel. There is also a package available that includes free breakfast and 75 bucks towards dinner, (cool restaurant), and 2 free shuttle passes to some casino which I don't care about for about $160 per night weeknights.

Cheers!
