n2ny
I hope you come through for me (yet again)! We need to move our son into Berklee School of Music July 9-10 and am hoping for a Back Bay hotel. I see someone else just got the Sheraton for $75/night, and I'd be very happy with that or the Hilton (I'm thinking the other two close by hotels -- the Eliot and the Lenox -- will be above our price range). Should I wait until we get close to the date? Should I try to lock it in now? What's a good strategy here? Thanks. Link to comment
thereuare
As there is no "Back Bay" zone on PRICELINE, exactly which zone(s) (by PRICELINE name) are you willing to accept? What star level are you seeking? Are you able to accept any hotel in this zone at this star level (or higher) or only the Hilton or Sheraton? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Let us know the above and we'll advise accordingly. n2ny
Oops. Sorry. On Priceline it is Copley Square - Theater District. We've had great experiences with 3-1/2* and above, so I'd like to stick with that, and I'd take anything at that level. Thanks again. Link to comment
thereuare
I don't think $75 is going to be enough for this stay... is that your maximum bid at this point in time? (we'll suggeest a strategy for you to try up to that limit, but thought i'd see how high you were willing to go given the very low likelihood of success at that amount)Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. n2ny
I based $75 on the calendar of wins, so I thought it was reasonable. Howire Boston Hotel WinHow high do you think I need to go? Link to comment
thereuare
I think you're going to need to be closer to $100+... but i'm hoping you can prove me wrong.Of course any strategy we suggest would start low and go gradually higher, so let us know if you want $75, or some other figure, to be your current limit and we'll take it from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. n2ny
I'll go up to $90/night (I'm staying 2-3 nights). Link to comment
thereuare
I was only looking at the nite of 7/9-7/10... looking for 2-3 nites may make the rates higher or lower. Are your plans firm yet? What are the actual dates of your stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. n2ny
Yes, our plans are firm. We have to be there the nights of July 9th (Friday) and July 10th (Saturday). We may stay one more night (the 11th) but probably not. Link to comment
thereuare
At the 3.5* level you have FIVE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding.Select 3.5* Copley Square - Theater District...Bid $75, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $85, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $95, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $100Any questions feel free to ask. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.Good luck and let us know how it goes. n2ny
I the PRICELINE link here and used all my rebid zones and had to go all the way up to $100/night. I wound up with the Boston Park Plaza Hotel (*** & 1/2). A great location but am a bit apprehensive based on mixed reviews I have read but hopefully we scored a deal. Thanks for your help! thereuare
Congratulations on your success! While perhaps not your first choice in hotel, for $100 in the heart of the city i'm sure it'll be fine. Given your rejections it appears that rates did rise since the previous poster won for less 2 months ago.Thank you for sharing your win and using the PRICELINE links on the board to begin your bidding.Enjoy your stay.
