I made a mistake while bidding, but I'm still a noob at this. It's so obvious what I did wrong now that I've made the mistake.

My first bid was 4* mayfair-soho at $70. Rejected. I wanted to rebid right away, so I added Bloomsbury-Marble Arch and upped to $90 (I'm very impatient because I'll be arriving in 3 days and I want to start planning my sightseeing and tube rides).

Since bloomsbury/Marble Arch hotels are strictly cheaper than mayfair-soho, if my $90 bid is accepted, then it WILL be in the former region. I should have known better.

In any case, it's a fantastic deal and I'm very happy with it. I'm just not too happy about feeling like I made a mistake.

$90/night bid turned into to $110/night after taxes and etc.

While perhaps you could have gotten an even better price, at least this is still a very nice deal for this property vs. a conventionally booked hotel in London. Glad to see you're happy with the outcome and this will work well for your plans.

Other wins for a 4* in that neighborhood have been similar to your win, so luckily, it seems you did not even overbid, in spite of upping the bid as you changed zones. Looks like a nice property. Hope I get this one if I bid this area.
