bworgan
This is my first time using PRICELINE. I am trying for a 4* in Amsterdam city centre from 7/2/2010 - 7/5/2010My bids have been as follows$65 - rejected$70- rejected$75 - rejected $77 - rejected Many posts on here have gotten accepted at aroudn this price for a similar time frame. Is it possible to bid the same price again? Might it be accepted on a different date?I am very confused. Please help! Link to comment
thereuare
Yes, rates are date specific. What is the best rate you're able to find for this stay thru traditional booking channels? What is your maximum bid for this stay?I haven't checked the feasibility of it, but would you be able to flip your Amsterdam and Brussels dates? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
Rialb
I would not worry about it too much. $80 or about 60 Euro is in reality a damn good price for a four star in Amsterdam. I would wait a couple days, add museum quarter and lower my bid - and of course use the PRICELINE link. Link to comment
BacSi
The reality is that a $1 increase above that $77 may do it. But that is what we get with an opaque system. We are never quite sure until we get a win. My "guess" based on your dates is that you are close. But only a real time bid will tell if I am correct or not.If you have the budget I'd do a couple of $1-2 increases. With luck you may only need one.Good Luck Link to comment
four leaf clover
What was the counter offer you received? Sometimes than can be a clue! Link to comment
MadFlyer
That is cruise season. The Movenpick is right at the cruise terminal. Almost 2000 board and disembark from the Celebrity Constellation on the 3rd. Around 1000 board and disembark from the MSC Opera on the 5th. http://www.amsterdamcruise.com/Custom/ACP/ (cruise calender) The 4 star NH's are all over $200 on your dates. I would guess a bid of $92 to $96 or above might win now based on that. Good luck. Link to comment
