kjkeys88
I'm looking to head up to New York for a weekend stay (Friday and Saturday night) sometime before Thanksgiving (excluding first weekend of November). Definitely 3* or higher, with a preference for 4*. Thanks to this website i generally understand bidding strategy, but what price should I generally be expeting to pay? I've heard good deals can be had Downtown on the weekends given a lack of business demand, urban legend? Thanks for any thoughts. Link to comment
thereuare
Please follow-up the questions we have regarding your Priceline Washington DC purchase and then bump this thread by letting us know your maximum nightly budget for the above stay. kjkeys88
I would say $200 a night would be maximum nightly, but would like to stay under that. If 4* can be had for under 200 (hopefully less) then i'd do that, if not, I'd take 3* under $150, if not, Port Authority. Thanks for the help. Link to comment
thereuare
I'm not so sure your budget will be enough for a 4* during this timeframe, but to confirm, any zone in NYC is acceptable? (and price is most important factor) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment

I would try the above for each of those two dates and then try for the two acceptable weekends. If you have the time you can actually go thru one bid cycle (ie: $120-$130) for each set of dates, then go thru the next bid cycle ($135-$145) for the next set of dates, and so-on, and so-on... although this will take you a bit longer to get thru the above.Any questions feel free to ask.Good Luck and let us know how it goes... if the above fails we'll move on to a 3* strategy.
