kevertje
Started with 60 dollar and went up to 80 dollar with using all free-re-bid zones. No luck, maybe I should try bidding 1 night first ? Link to comment
thereuare
I'm seeing a few hotels sold-out for the second nite of your stay (and some only when searching for one nite... they do show availability (albeit at a higher price) when searching for both nites together); so i think if you bid the first nite you will likely have success at amounts you have already bid, but you may have difficulty getting the second nite. There are a few ways i would recommend playing this, depending upon your budget and how much you like/dislike chaning hotels during your stay...1) HOTWIRE has a 4* hotel in the downtown area for both nites (likey the Inter-Continental on Front St?) for $109/nite. You could take this and not have to change hotels or...2) continue to bid both nites on Priceline, up to $105 (if rejected take the HOTWIRE offer above)3) bid first on the last nite of your stay since this will be the more difficult nite. If you don't mind changing hotels, you can assume (<-- an assumption!!) that you can get a hotel for the first nite for $80 or less... enabling you to bid higher for this last nite (ie- if the above is your back-up, figure about $110, so assuming you could get the first nite at $80, this would enable you to bid up to $140 for the second nite and still have an equal deal... although i would bid less for the 'inconvenience' of having to change hotels... no sense in getting the same deal (price-wise) and have to change hotels... better to take the same deal dollar-wise and not have to switch during your stay.Does the above make sense? kevertje
thanks, just when you replied on this message I got the Intercontinental for $77 Strange enough I didn't get an email about this, only the not-succesfull try for the 2nd night :)Thanks, any suggestions ? Link to comment
thereuare
Is this the Inter-Continental on Front St (as there are two IC properties in this zone)Was $77 your first bid? If not, what was your previously rejected bid amount?Do you mean you didn't receive an email of the acceptance from Priceline? Check your BULK/junk folder... if nothing there then make a print out of the confirmation screen. Please answer the above questions in a reply to this thread and then start a NEW TOPIC for the balance of your stay. kevertje
We are currently in the Toronto Downtown Inter Continental on Front street and it's awesome. We are on the top-floor (25th) and are VERY close to the CN tower. There is free internet, normally 9,95 + tax but in the directory it says 'free' so I called the front desk and after a chat with the manager they gave me free internet for 24hours.The city is very nice but the hotel is more than I had expected.
